The Department of Physics welcomes international students who wish to study Physics or Materials Physics in Erlangen. Since 2015 studies being awarded with the Master of Science (MSc) in Physics or Materials Physics are in English. The courses leading to the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics or Materials Physics are offered in German only.

Students wishing to take the  Physics MSc course should hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physics. Students wishing to take the MSc course in Materials Physics should hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science. Exceptions are possible, the admission board will carefully look at the supplied evidence of previous studies and decide on admission. The board of admission can issue an admission with additional requirements which will ensure that the Master level can be reached within the time allowed for the programmes.
